Join our Parent-Teacher Organization (PTO)!

Our first meeting will be immediately after Open House on 9/16. We will be electing our PTO board at that time. If you are interested in running, please send your name, contact information, a short bio, and a photo of yourself to Taylor Hamilton at taylor.hamilton@polk-fl.net

Information about each PTO position is listed below.

President

The President shall be the principal executive officer of the organization and shall, in general, supervise and control all of the activities of the organization so as to uphold the purpose of the organization, The President shall preside at all meetings of the Executive Board and General Membership. The President shall serve as the primary contact to the principal and represent the organization at meetings outside the organization.

Vice President

The Vice President shall be a member of the Executive Board and, in the absence of the President, shall perform the duties of the President. The Vice President shall automatically become President upon the Vacancy of that position. The Vice President will work with the membership chair to plan the annual membership campaign.

Secretary

The secretary shall be a member of The Executive Board. The Secretary shall keep records of the organization, take and record minutes, book, bylaws, rules, and any other necessary documents, and brings them to the meeting.

Treasurer

The Treasurer shall be a member of The Executive Committee. The Treasurer shall receive all funds of the organization, keep an accurate record of receipts and expenditures, and payout funds as authorized by the President or the Executive Board. The Treasure shall present a written financial report at every meeting and at other times as requested by the Executive Board. The Treasurer shall make a full year report at the end of each school year.

Parliamentarian

The Parliamentarian is an expert in rules of order and the proper procedures for the conduct of meetings of deliberative assemblies. Parliamentarians assist organizations in the drafting and interpretation of bylaws and rules of order, and the planning and conduct of meetings.

Membership Chair

The Membership Chair is responsible for recruiting parents and teachers to become members and be involved through the year. The membership chair is responsible for creating and implementing a membership plan, promoting membership throughout the year, providing membership reports at PTO board meetings.

Fundraising Chair

The Fundraising Chair is responsible for preparing the Fundraising Committee agenda for PTO meetings and oversees all PTO fundraising efforts.

Family Events Chair

The PTO Family Events Chair is responsible for coordinating all PTO Family Events. The Chair will work with other members of the PTO board to coordinate events, fundraise, create programming, manage volunteers, and correspond with appropriate students, faculty, and community members.
